HAPPY NEW YEAR!

PARTY TIME! It's the last night of a very long year, and you better believe Enodia is going to celebrate. A few days ago, fliers and an email went out to all Enodia staff that there was a party starting 7pm, dress like you would 100 years ago, FYOB. There is no further explanation.

Since this is a little bit of a last-minute party that Crysta decided on, so it's not really grand by Waldinger standards. Just a cute little way to ring in a new year! No tricks! One trick. The room is, somehow, cozy and old-timey feeling, directly lifted from a speakeasy circa 1923. Lots of handmade-looking paper chains and a few balloons are primary party decor. Which mostly means the community room is small and darkly lit, with a lot more furniture than it normally holds. There's a little bar in the corner, not containing any alcohol, but a plethora of mixers and mocktails. Here, it becomes immediately clear what all the hidey spots are for; Crysta's hidden bottles, flasks, and cans of various alcohols around the area, in celebration of rebellion against the rules of the land. Or just to see her co-workers look under couch cushions for mini-vodkas. Maybe both.

Anyway, it's a cozy little spot to ring in the new year, so find your own booze! Kiss someone at midnight! Chat! Party!

volunteer slots! Vidalia volunteers to help Crysta carry in all the furniture and sort of pulls their back in the process. She rewards them with a full bottle of alcohol of their choice, but they mostly spend the evening on the couch they suffered about.

Sal finds nothing but illusory alcohol until about 10 pm at which point, it's a flask of Jeppson's Malört. Maybe they should just go home.

Volunteer C and Volunteer D reach for the same champagne bottle at midnight. Does that mean...kiss?

Volunteer E has some real fireworks that they try to convince everyone to come see. Please shut this down.

Volunteer F finds pocketfulls of mini bottles in their previously abandoned coat. Only turns out that Volunteer G had stashed them there because they thought this was their coat Oops. (Does THAT mean kiss??)

Raine suddenly has the misfortune of a vase falling down and experiencing glitter everywhere. Like, real glitter Crysta's been stashing since probably Pride. Sorry about the microplastics.

locations! ⬦ VIBE CHECK: Whatcha wearing how u feelin'. Theme is 1920s roughly but honestly Crysta feels flappers are kinda whatever, so just be cute.

⬦ DRY BAR: Lots of mixers and mocktails and glasses, no real drinks are hidden here, way too obvious. There's food this time and it's mostly skewers.

⬦ THE PARTY: There are lots of rented couches to socialize around, and Beulah Stump has once again co-opted a bottle. Crysta cut her off, because they don't need closet energy tonight, so Beulah settles for initiating a fun game of SPIN THE BOTTLE TRUTH OR DARE. Feel free to post your own party games!

⬦ MIDNIGHT: Near midnight, an old-timey Victrola record starts playing a count down out of nowhere (creepy,) and glasses of champagne materialize. Illusions of fireworks light up the sky outside. Grab someone you like for a new year's kiss and drag them on to the balcony through some sliding glass doors. Happy 2024.
