I heard a rumor there's going to be some kind of party tomorrow night.

[Research Division]

Ernestine Waters is coming to visit the Station on Monday. Dr. St. Germaine, Dr. Waldinger, and Crysta are going to be playing tour guide.

She included a list of her favorite researchers at the station: Dr. Waldinger, Dr. Huff, Max Hart, Tom Hendricks, Dr. Stone, Annie Song, Dr. St. Germaine, me, Dr. Castillo, and Hera Vincent-Skovgaard (also: all the other researchers, the lab technicians, the assistants, "and everyone else that makes the dream possible!!"). If any of you have a little extra time to answer her questions I'm sure she'd appreciate it.

Right now I'm in charge of conducting the interview by default, but if anyone else who knows more about conducting interviews wants to help out or take over, I'd owe you a favor.

I think we're getting on Magdy's nerves. When I asked him if we could hire an intern who's in high school he just said he "doesn't get" kids.

We're potentially fostering a young mind. Even if she doesn't stay at Enodia long term, it'd look good on her resume.

After she nixed the corduroy idea I'm thinking about busting out one of the novelty Hawaiian shirts I keep in the back of my closet.

I think that should suffice. I heard there's been glitter in the lab lately, so you could add some of that for extra authensicity.

Well, I guess we'll see. I'm glad she's not fourteen so this isn't all wishful thinking for her.

By the way, since when did Enoch decide to join the welcome party?

That's how you end up with people like us, to be fair.

Really? You must have something on him.

Some plant-based glitters are genuinely biodegradable but a lot of it is just marketing and lies.

It wasn't that hard. I think he's just excited that he's her favorite.

You're right, sincerest apologies. It makes people like me and Enoch. But be careful, if you do go back to school you'll slowly transform into one of us.

Ahhhh that explains it. I hope he lives up to her expectations.

Even if he's a disappointment, she seems resilient.

Yeah, somehow I don't think even Enoch's personality is going to be enough to get her to stop wanting to work here. Although she's kind of getting the personality gauntlet with you three.

She'll get to experience all that our division has to offer, for better or worse. Mostly worse. Thank god for Crysta.

Besides, as mean as Enoch can be, no one is meaner than a teenager.

Yes, but in an endearing way that people love.

Maybe this is part of some wider mind game she's playing.

It's never too late for Ernestine to be a secret evil mastermind, it's true.
