Hypatia is not expecting this sort of response at all, not because of who Rye is, but because she often surrounds herself with people who would not be embarrassed but instead would be hostile. It takes her a moment to formulate a response because of this, but her surprised expression smooths into a gentle smile easily in the meantime.

"Oh, no, you don't have to be sorry. Accidents happen, and anyway everything is a little crazy right now. I just... you looked a little upset. But you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." She holds out the cup of coffee in her hand, Rye's general demeanor making her immediately want to take care of him. Not that it takes much, honestly. "Do you want some coffee? It's nice and warm, and I haven't had any of it."
